    Pultrusion
    Technology

Pultrusion is a manufacturing process that produces continuous lengths of composite materials with a constant cross-section

There are many ways of producing composite parts made from Glass reinforced Plastic (GRP) or Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP).

Open mold: hand lay up, vacuum mold. In those cases, intensive human work is necessary. This makes it challenging to create repeatable quality composite parts. Due to the big portion of labor work, the composite part cost is higher.

Close mold processes: Compression molding, Reinforced reaction injection molding (RRIM), Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) and autoclave. These involve substantial initial cost in molds and tooling.

Pultrusion is the optimal process to create repeatable accurate composite parts with minimum human involvement.

It can require small initial investment in molds and tooling and in some cases is followed by CNC machining.

    The Pultrusion Process

    2

The bundles are pulled through a resin basin and forming system

    3

Shaping is done in a heated die where the resin undergoes polymerization

    4

The material is then sawed to the specified size.

    We Offer
    Different types of resins

    • Polyester
    • Epoxy (improves mechanical properties)
    • Vinyl Ester (for alkaline environment)

    Pas-Gon standard
    specifications include

    • UV resistant

    • Protective layer prevents fibers
from “escaping” from of the profile

    • Fire retardant, in accordance with UL 94 V-1
      (V-0 available upon request)

    • Metal-free colors

    • Antibacterial protection (optional)
